Dr. Liu Yu serves as an Assistant Researcher in the Lab of Learning Sciences, Graduate School of Education, Peking University. She also holds the tittle of Boya Postdoctoral Fellow of Peking University. Dr. Liu Yu received a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her primary research focuses Encompass AI for Education, Teacher Education and Learning Sciences. Dr. Liu Yu has been presiding over and participating in multiple key social science research projects in Beijing and Hong Kong Government Research Fund projects. And she has been awarded the title of "Tin Ka Ping Young Scholar in Teacher Education Research." She is one of the compilers of the Peking University DeepSeek User Manual, and main developer and lecturer of the "Peking University Generative Artificial Intelligence and Teacher Development Training Program" series courses. She has conducted training on the educational applications of generative artificial intelligence for faculty and students at Tsinghua University, Peking University, Beijing Normal University, and University of Manchester. She has publications in "Comparative Education Research," "Modern Educational Technology," and "International Journal of Chinese Education," among others.

Co-authored the "Peking University DeepSeek Handbook Series," which garnered over 100,000 online reads within three days of publication.

Designed and delivered the "Peking University Generative AI and Teacher Development" seminar series. Has conducted training on AI in education for diverse audiences, including faculty and students from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Peking University Health Science Center, Beijing Normal University, doctoral students from the University of Manchester, and K-12 teachers nationwide through the National Center for Educational Technology. Has trained over ten thousand participants (in-person and online).
